Forum Style does not propagate stylevars
 

Hi

I have a problem with the vbulletin 4.2.0 style system.

I am an advanced user but this is the first time something like this happens.
The vB version is out-of-the-box, and no addons exist as of yet.

The database is converted from another forum.

When I create styles or sub-styles of existing ones, stylevar changes aren't visible, which means even if I install a custom style which is smaller in width and has another color, it isn't visible regardless which style I choose.
Template changes are visible, so I am sure that I use the correct style, only the stylevars have no effect at all.

I tried clearing the cache multiple times, Disabled hooks alltogether, changed the "user may select style" option several times, no effect at all.

The files on the webhost are all 100% fresh, I even overwrote all files from a new vb4.2.0 archive. No change.

IAm not sure where to start. Any hint of where I should start looking?
