Forum Questions about Tags
 

I have a few questions about Tags and how they work.

I've tested various options in vBulletin 4.2.0 PL2 and am playing around with Tags to see what is possible for my needs. Any answers are greatly appreciated, thanks!

Question #1)
What exactly does "Tag Cloud: Build Usergroup" do? I am not understanding the description very well. I have my settings currently set to "Live Permission Check". It sounds like that setting does what I want to do (see question #2). But it doesn't :(.

Question #2)
This question is related to question #1. Can the Tag Cloud only show tags to a particular usergroup (and handle multiple)? For example, I have two usergroups, and their forums are completely hidden from each other. I want to keep them (the two usergroups) separated and hidden from each other. But the Tag Cloud can show which tags the other usergroup is using in their private forum. I would like for the Tag Cloud to only show the tags that they can see and use in their own forum. Is this possible?

Currently, if I goto /tags.php or Advanced Search and type in a tag that the usergroup should not be able to see, they can see that tag appear in the Auto-Fill Suggestions. Of course, if they try to search for that tag they will not see the results because they do not have permissions to view the threads from a forum they do not have permissions to see. This, I am sort of OK with. But showing other usergroup's tags in the cloud is a problem for me.

Question #3)
I've tagged a bunch of my threads with a particular tag and when I click on that tag in the Tag Cloud or by searching via /tags.php, the results show up with nothing. Why is this? It was working for a little while and then suddenly the tags are not returning search results. Is there a setting I could have changed? I have "Enable Search Tag Cloud" set to YES. EDIT: It looks like it is working now all of a sudden. Is there a set time to have these update?

Question #4)
With concern to server strain, etc.... Is it recommended to have all the tag cache settings set to '0'? I would like for new tags to show up immediately in the cloud, etc. So having cache settings as '0' makes them show up immediately. Note, my forum does not have many active users 24/7.
