Forum Serious ae?a AE?A problems - please help
 

i have just upgraded my forum from 4.1.1 to 4.2.0 pl 3.


Trevor got the forum to work so it looks right on the surface, but all my users have been troubleshooting tonight and the forum has som SERIOUS special char problems


When i say "reply with quote" to a post containing any of the chars ae?a OR ?AAE - and then "go advanced" - it deletes the quote AND any text i have begun writing in the editing field subsquently in the reply

this does not happen in posts (with or without quotes) without ?AEA/a?ae chars

i can see my own post in the preview after i have said go advanced - but the editing field becomes empty

this goes for any and all browsers (IE FF chrome safari)


No thread-titles containing capital AE?A can be shown in IE - try to open a thread with an AE?A name and you get this

No smilies containing any or all ae?a letters can be used in the WYSIWYG editor - you have to write them manually - you cannot click them


and in the worst cases - the editing field is simply gone in IE - not in any other browsers, but 3 IE users have reported missing the editing field


Please help me fix this... hotfix or otherwise... were danish - the primary users of ae?a - roughly 1/3 of the words wee use contains these letters, so were are in trouble here
