CMS Problem in 4.2.0 CMS: Recent blogs widget not parsing blog content correctly
 

We've started using the recent blogs widget in the CMS in vBulletin 4.2.0.

We have a problem connected with a Group Blog listed as a featured blog in the blogs section of our site. When one of the guest authors posts on the blog their post appears as

"Author says..." in bold... on the blog itself.

Whilst the content is formatted correctly on the blog itself, what appears in the recent blogs widget on the homepage [we use the CMS as our homepage] on our site is:

[Font=tahoma]
[Color= #000000] Author says...

I looked through all the settings and couldn't find a solution so put in a support ticket. The answer was

"You are running into a bug here - http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBIV-14433 , or more specifically the child issue here - http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBIV-10356"

One of these bug tracker issues (the child issue) looks to have been closed, and there is a comment there saying "petition to reopen". This is still a problem in vBulletin 4.2.0 (the flagship product and the only one presently suitable for a production site).

So, can we re-open the issue and get it fixed please?

Also, in the short term does anyone have any fixes for things that you can do to the blog content itself to make sure that the recent blogs widget can pick up the content and parse/format it correctly?

PS: The title of the blog post appears to format correctly. So even if it were only possible in the short term to edit the code of the recent blog posts widget so that it only picked up the title of the blog post, and not the content itself, that would provide us with a short term fix to our problem.
