Common Login Solution

I have been reading through the documentation but am still unsure if the following will be possible:

I need to implement a common login solution between our existing website with registered users and a forum. It will therefore be necessary for a user to login to our website and then when linking to the forum be logged in and registered there as well. Do you think it will be possible to implement with vBulletin without to much programming. I had a look at the mobile interface documentation and it seems to have the functions I need, but I am not sure if one will be able to use this interface to register and login users and then move them to the forum site while staying logged in.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
