My experience with vbulletin support and more On the 26th Of September I decided would upgrade to vBulletin 5 Connect the site and payment system was poor and unstable resulting in two payments being taken even though it said the first had failed. I disputed one payment and allowed the other to go through but was still unable to download the vBulletin 5 Connect so placed a support ticket and after supplying details and messing about 24 hours later I was informed I could now download vBulletin 5 Connect, a mess about and poor I thought but we got there in the end. On the 12th of October I was greeted with this message 'If you are trying to get support for your vB, then you need to be a licensed customer and you need to follow the instructions here to register your account for Priority Forum Support' on both www.vbulletin.com and www.vbulletin.org leaving me unable to use the members support even though I hold two vbulletin 4 Publishing Suite licences with lifetime support (I have held vbulletin licenses since 2001). I placed the only support ticket I was able to as soon as I saw this and waited another 24 hours before they decided they would allow me access to the members support again, I placed a support ticket on the 13th October asking what was going on then had to wait 3 days for a reply (this is 3 days when it claimed the average wait time was 45 mins) and finally after having to supply yet more details and even transaction scans they have finally upgraded my account to be able to download vBulletin 5 Connect being told 'During the time of your purchase was when we were in the process of transitioning to our new site as well as database which caused these issues.' You might wonder why I am sharing this and it's because I want to make a few points as a warning to others considering purchasing vBulletin 5 Connect. 1. They claim quick support when the reality is far from that. 2. They can't even sort out a simple payment process so it makes me wonder the future of vBulletin 5 Connect. 3. Using this company for over 10 years means nothing to them and in that time I have place 5 support tickets before this issue 2 of which are payment related all the others prior to 2002. 4. They blocked and revoked a life time licence without even notifying me I had to find out by going on the site then beg for support. I have no idea if this will be locked, deleted but one thing is for sure if I didn't have so much invested in vBulletin already and lack the time to switch to another system this would be more than enough to make me avoid ever using them. |
