Four citizens were injured due to excessive use of force on Saturday, houses were raided and citizens were arrested. Tear gas and Birdshots were excessively used in areas where people marched to protest for their rightful demands. A young man was arrested after he was chased by regime forces for using his car horn to demonstrate an anti-government slogan. He was forced to sign a pledge and pay a fine. He now remains in detention.

A peaceful protest took place in Ma'ameer to reassure the rightful demands of the Bahraini people. As usual, the security forces attacked the protest. They also raided a house in the village, damaged its property and verbally and physically abused a woman who was alone in the house. The forces spat on the woman and slapped her before they left the house in chaos. However, these violations are ongoing because the regime lets its forces act with impunity. Such behavior of the regime forces has become very usual. The forces raid civilians’ houses, steal their personal belongs and damage their property. This indicates a clear approach of the regime which passes down higher-ranked orders to take revenge from anti-government citizens.

In a separate incident, reports revealed that several detainees in Dry Dock (detention 7) are subjected to continuous harassment and torture by a duty officer and his assistants for demanding their basic rights to use the toilet. According to details given by the detainees’ families, some asked for permission to use toilets but one of the guards refused without an excuse. And when the detainees insisted on their demands, the officer ordered the forces to brutally beat them causing many injuries. The detainees were threatened to go through the same terrifying experience if they are to repeat and insist on this demand. Details on the issue indicate that the detainees in detention no.7 are facing harsh treatment for demanding their basic human rights like visiting the toilet. After the incident mentioned above, the detention cell doors are opened for a very limited period of time every day. The detainees are also not given enough time to talk to their families and they are repeatedly subjected to psychological torture.
