Using Memcache
 

Everybody talks about xCache, then maybe eAccelerator, then somewhere around the back in the shadows APC, and the then there is the one that never seems to get an invite to the party Memcache.

I am currently running my site on a dedicated Windows Web Server 2008 and cannot use xcache/apc/eaccelerator, to cut a long story short none of these are compatible with IIS7 implementation of FastCGI and it doesn't look like there is a fix coming any time soon.

So I have decided to try using Memcache, whats the worst that could happen?

and then changing the vbulletin config.php I now have everything running as it should.

So the question is, is there a reason memcache is never invited to the party?
