Again, the forces suppressed freedoms of expression and assembly around Bahrain. More than 5 houses were raided, and a number of cases of asphyxiation were reported after the forces rained neighborhoods with lethal toxic gasses. Birdshot, which has previously resulted in many deaths when aimed at protesters, was widely used on Tuesday. This indicates the recklessness of the regime forces when dealing with citizens’ lives. The following areas witnessed protests: Bilad Qadeem, Duraz, Demistan, Shahrakan, Hamala, Sitra, Ekr, Ma’ameer,Nuwaidrat, Karranah, Karbabad, Jidhafs, Musalah, JidAli, Tubli, Nuaim and Dair. The forces opened fire on a youth gathering in Bilad-Qadeem and chased the demonstrators who attempted to march calling, “Our Holy Places are in Danger”. In the village of Shahrakan, people also protested against demolishing and attacking places of worship and demanded accountability and trial for those involved in the crime. The protesters also chanted slogans for the prophet Mohammad (pbuh), refusing provocation. The regime forces attacked areas around Sitra island hastily and randomly when people held a protest march there. Two checkpoints were set at Sitra entrances, and many citizens were stopped at the main entrance. The village of Dair witnessed a peaceful protest in which women widely participated in, but the forces brutally attacked it causing a number of injuries. The forces have again used the tear gas canisters to directly target protesters’ bodies, alongside birdshot and other arms. On Wednesday 26th early morning, 6 houses in Duraz were raided by the forces and 2 citizens were arrested in the area, one of them off the street. http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos...23229306_s.jpg المصدر... |
