Suite redirection problem after upgrading a copy of a 3.8.2 site to 4.2 suite
 

We're trying to upgrade a site running 3.8.3 to 4.2 - this is what we have done.

We have a dedicated server with different domains at our disposal so rather than work on the live site we decided to make a copy of the live site to test the upgrade process.

This is what we did;

1. transferred a copy of the live vb 3.8.2 site (vb3site.com ) to a different domain (vb4site.com)

2. created a new database on vb4site.com then imported the vb3site.com database into it (when we exported from the vb3site we added 'droptable'), then changed config.php on vb4site.com to point to the correct database
3. go into admincp on vb4site.com and disabled all plugins/mods
4. upload the vb4.2 files to vb4site.com (allowing overwriting of the 3.8.2 files)
5. run upgrade.php

The upgrade completed ok. There was a note in Admincp to update some counters, which we did.

Admincp appears to work okay, but when we try to go to the forums eg. vb4site.com/forums

it goes to vb3site/forums/activity.php and says "page not found"

So it's redirecting to the live site and trying to run activity.php, which does't exist on the live vb3.8.2 site

We've checked config.php on the new site and any .htaccess files that could be causing a redirect and we can't see why this could be happening. And admincp works on the vb4 site.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?
