Monitoring poorly optimized queries? I have a dedicated server that was optimized last year... the traffic on the server is getting back to the levels from 2 years ago (long story)... and 2years ago i had half the hardware specs... My current scenario has VB and alot of non-vb custom PHP that uses GLOBAL.php from vbulletin so i can reuse the usersession and login information... like a MINI CMS... Anyhow... mysql is eating up my memory (10GB)... and i think my developer or myself wrote some bad queries... cuz we didn't always use VB templates , we have PHP files that do formatting and logic all in it and then calls one template to build the page... maybe we shud have used vbtemplates more to make better use of the caching in VB? Is there a live log/tool that i can turn on during peek times and capture critical DB usage information? I want to delay purchasing seperate servers for DB and PHP... 10GB and only 300 simulataneous vb sessions shud be easy for most servers... |
