Forum Thread pruneing I need to prune out old threads/posts. We have a moderator only board. On this board I have child forums set up to keep track of all the users and the posts they made that required a moderator to get involved including warnings and infractions. So what happens is a post is reported, starts a thread on the mod only board. Mods deal with it, at that point it is moved to a child form of the mod only forum with the users name at the title. This information is very useful when deciding on banning someone. The reported post will link back to the original thread, so if that thread is removed in a prune I won't have the link. I know I can prevent any of the reported posts from being removed by pruning by board. What about posts that resulted in an infraction? On our board we have every third infraction you get a suspension. After 9 infractions you are put up for an outright ban which is up to the owner. Will those get pruned as well? Is there away to prevent warnings and infractions posts from being pruned? Is there an archive function that does not take up as much resources on the Database? Which is why we need to prune. The Database is costing us a lot of money the size it is. If I prune that will remove out post count which is over a million correct? |
