Universal Banning?

I’m seriously considering starting a forum and thought I’d read here extensively before deciding if Vb is right for me. However, I would first like to ask a question as a user of forums, please.

Recently, I discovered that I have been permanently banned from a forum where I had made a few posts some while back. Not only had I been permanently banned, my posts were removed. I emailed the webmaster and received no reply as to why. I’m not a Spammer (I don’t sell anything at all), never used profanity or posted sexual content or made racist remarks and never had a cross word with anyone on the forum let alone a flame war. I would characterize my notes as right on topic and innocuous. This particular forum uses Vb.

After I discovered the banning (the only one in my life from any forum), I tried to register at two other Vb forums without success. The first emailed back indicating that I “didn’t meet their requirements,” while with the other I never received the confirmation email. I emailed the man who owns the forum asking what the problem was and he didn’t reply either.

So my question is can someone with a Vb forum get a user banned from all Vb forums? If so, does he or she have to give a reason? Do other Vb forum owners have to accept this as gospel?

A forum owner can ban anyone he or she wants to for any reason he or she chooses. (It is, after all, his or her forum.) The reason could be totally capricious, such as he or she disagrees with the person’s political opinions, or he or she could have even banned a member by mistake intending to ban another.. Therefore, if there is some sort of universal ban for Vb forums, everyone can or must accept such as valid on the word of another forum owner?
