| 23-08-12 04:07 PM Eight citizens arrested and mourning ceremonies of the martyr Al-Haddad Heavily suppressed on the third day of Eid: More than 18 areas faced brutal official suppression More than 18 areas around Bahrain are reported to have been subjected to collective punishment and excessive force on Tuesday (21st August, 2012). The regime forces attacked, assaulted and arrested a number of citizens for expressing their opinions. Shot birds- an internationally prohibited weapon- are reported to have been used by the regime forces in many areas, as well as lethal tear gas, which was excessively fired at houses causing asphyxia among elderly and children. Eight citizens have been arrested after being brutally assaulted by the regime forces. The citizens were first stopped and assaulted at check points which are set by the MOI an which cause heavy traffic jams. Such check points which have been widely set lately, are a clear evidence of the security crackdown on rise, and that is being used to confront the protests and the demands for a democratic transition. Many areas witnessed night protests including: Juffair, Sanabis, South Sehla, Sitra, Al-Daih, Mussala,Iskan Jid hafs, Dimistan, Dar-Kulaib, Bani-Jamra, Nuwaidrat, Ma'ameer, Nu'aim, Al-Qurraya, Al-Malkya and Arad. Most of those areas were subjected to official violence through the heavy use of arms against peaceful pro-democracy protesters. On the third day of the martyr Hossam Al-Haddad( killed by the regime forces) funeral ceremonies , a rally was about to head to his grave but it was confronted with excessive use of violence against citizens who participated in the rally . Many injuries and arrests have been reported among the mourners. Candles vigil took to the streets in many areas around Bahrain in mourning of the martyr Al-Haddad but again, they were faced with excessive use of violence that excluded nobody not leaving a chance to freedom of peaceful expression.
