The regime has no regard for the rights of prisoners and intensifies their abuse
Political prisoners put in solitary confinement for asking to read the hold Qua’ran

It has been reported that the security forces inside Jaw Prison have committed punitive acts against political prisoners after they requested to open the internal doors of the jail in order to be able to read Qua’ran during the hold month of Ramadhan. The humane request was rejected by the prison administration and those who made the request were punished by being put into solitary confinement.
Reports from Jaw Prison stated that three political prisoners (medic, Ahmed Ali Mushatet, Jasim AlHamoor, Mahdi Jameel, are facing a punishment of two days handcuffed in solitary confinement because of their request to read the Qua’ran in the holy month of Ramadhan.

The mistreatment and disregarding of the rights of political prisoners comes in the context of the regimes unjustified punitive policy against pro-democracy citizens because of their opposition views.
