Woman slapped, kicked and shot at for trying to free children from security forces:
Security forces shot teargas into a woman's car as she was driving:
73 year old woman's home was teargassed, twitpic.com/8dzqul, then they raided the home, finding that she is unable to walk, they beat her on her legs with batons. When family members tried to intervene they were beaten as well, her granddaughters head scarf was pulled off as they beat her. They finally left when neighbors started gathering. On the 28th of January, and for several nights before and after, between 3 and 4 am, large numbers of plain clothed police accompanied by security forces raided a number of homes in Bani Jamrah, with no arrest warrants. During these raids, family members are beaten (yfrog.com/od30odsj), and valuables are stolen, identical to raids mentioned in BICI report (twitter.com/#!/Moawen/status/163782..). Some detainees who were released a while ago are now being rearrested, many have gone into hiding.
Reports that 10 young men who were arrested from Sitrah were all moved to the MOI hospital due to severe beatings.
Hassan Oun, whose case was highlighted by our center previously: bahrainrights.org/en/node/4943) was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment despite describing to the judge how he was subjected to torture.
The security forces in Bahrain have intensified their use of excessive force against protesters in Bahrain, continuing the use of firing excessive teargas into residential areas as collective punishment.
17 year old Mohammed Yaqoob who's family say he died due to torture, his funeral procession was attacked, in addition to a raid on his home and the arrest of his brother.

Hussain AlJamri, 2bb.me/0126-1327614227, who suffers from the sickle cell disease, was arrested on the 27th of January and had several operations previously according to his family. Public prosecution decided to detain him for two weeks pending investigation.
