I wish there would be a OFFICIAL Documentation for 3rd party developers just like http://community.invisionpower.com/r...ml?category=37 It's ok if customers write artcles / tutorials for other but i think the best way would be, if the developer say how something is working. For example => http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=236245 Ther's a tutorial for creating own widgets. The author is telling the people to create a new html widget, to leave the static html field empty, to create a template and to create a PLUGIN at hook global_start to create some variables for the output and to register them, which could be terrible for performance and calling code on every pageview, no matter if it's needed or not. The people who have no clue read it and then they port this into there modifications. Second example: my article about using the autoloader => http://ragtek.org/blog/vbulletin/vbu...b4-autoloader/ I thought this is the right way, but then somebody wrote, that i shouldn't put anything in the vb directory because there should only be the original vb "framework" files, what makes sense to me... I think really that some official articles would boost the quality of (some) add-ons & add-on coders (i'm sure not everybody would use it^^) __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__ |
