Forum Serious IE issues for vb 4.0+!

Since upgrading a client's forum from SMF 1.14 to vb 4.02 we have had many Internet Explorer problems within the vb software.

The problem: When viewing the FORUMHOME page in IE 8 The page looks normal but when I click on any link in the Last Post column it automatically goes to the front CMS front page. If I disable the CMS, then it will just sit there and do nothing at all. In IE the URLs looks like this after I click it in the Last post column:

There is apparently some sort of problem with the last post links. This does not happen in firefox. Its only in IE and I am running IE 8.

That is what it says in my IE Help tab.

I'm currently running vbulletin 4.0.2.

We are currently using 2 custom skins, but I have tested this in ALL the skins including the vb default skin so it is not a skin issue. We have tested all the hacks and disabled them one at a time to see if it was possible that one of the hacks caused this problem. It is not. Even with all the hacks/mods on teh board disabled it still did this in the default skin so its definitely a vbulletin problem. I have also tried the IE Compatibility Mode and ticked for it to work in ALL. Still no beans.

Can anyone help with this? Is this related to the SMF import or just another IE/VB4 related bug
