Recently we switched to mysql fulltext search, and turned boolean search on. In vbulletin admincp, under searchtype, it now says: Quote:
Your forum is currently using the Fulltext search engine. If you wish to revert to the vBulletin search engine, please continue. You can leave the Fulltext indexes in place if you expect to return to the Fulltext search in the near future. Leaving them in place will cause added load on your system in the interim. To awoid stopwords, we defined the stopword file in mysql.ini. (we're not an english forum, so we didn't need them) Even though vbulletin search says when some words are to common, f.ex. "nine, has, able, above" If then exclude these words in Message Searching Options (vBulletin Internal Search), then I can search fine on these words. If I turn of boolean search, then I can search on all words, even if they're not present in Message Searching Options (vBulletin Internal Search)? Why is it necessary to exclude these words in vbulletin options when in fulltext mode? Servers has been restarted and indexes rebuild. mysql.ini: Code: [mysqld] # The TCP/IP Port the MySQL Server will listen on port=3306 max_allowed_packet=16M ft_min_word_len = 2 ft_stopword_file = "" Best Regards Jesper __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__ |
