I am new to the technical side of Vbulletin and am in the process of setting up a new board. I purchased a Vbulletin 4.0 license and have hired someone to set things up for me on the server side to get the ball rolling. He says that we won't be able to use version 4 of the the vBulletin as it requires php 5.2 installed on the hosting server. That version of php has not been released as an official version for red hat linux and can't be used on our hosting servers. Once php 5.2 is certified for red hat linux we will be able to upgrade then for free.
What on earth does that mean? I have not run into anyone who has had this problem? Do we know what we are doing back here guys?
