With Ovi Contacts* you can let your friends know what you are doing and where you are. You can also check your friends' status messages to see what your friends are up to. Ovi Contacts is all about keeping in touch with people who matter.

If you have used Nokia Chat you will find Ovi Contacts mobile application familiar.

The updated client contains some new features like: File transfer and Improved Compression. File transfer obviously is a nice feature if you need to quickly beam up your newly taken photo to your friend and you don't want to be restricted by the size of the photo (as in* you can transfer bigger files than before). And our new compression will save you a bit of costs in terms of battery consumption and data consumption. We've measured the data consumption to be about 60% less of what it was with the previous version. We've also made some progress on the user experience improvements requested. You'll notice that in the Contacts tab* there are now three quick buttons to see a friend's profile (or your own)* start a chat* and add friends.


Note: After installing the client* you should restart your device. To start using Ovi Contacts* you need a Nokia Account. Open the application and sign in* or follow the steps to create an account.
