| Just a few problems I've been having with Usergroups - what does everyone else think. 1. On my forum I have a private forum for users in a certain Usergroup. In addition I have a Usergroup for troublesome users whereby their posts are Moderated. If a user is on Moderation (primary Usergroup) and is then added to the private forum Usergroup (secondary Usergroup) then they are no longer on Moderation. Instead I have to create another Usergroup that has both Moderation and access to members-only forum. 2. Settings for the Moderators Usergroup are set up that any posts edited by them do not show the "last edited by" message. If I add them to a secondary Usergroup which has the "last edited by" message then anything they edit will show up as such. The two above relate to Primary and Secondary Usergroups. In both the above examples one would expect the Primary to override the Secondary Usergroup unless the Secondary Usergroup is to create additional permissions (for example access to a forum, extra photo gallery space, etc.) However this is not the case and you have to either create a second Usergroup with ALL the permissions, or change the permissions for one Usergroup so they don't override the other, which is clearly nonsense. 3. I have set user Ranks for my users that are based on postcount. Sometimes I might want to create a Primary Usergroup (to use my example above for users to be on Moderation). Say I wanted to show users in this Usergroup to be the same as everyone else I have to add another set of ranks that are identical to the ones for my normal users and then update both (or possibly more) when I make changes. Perhaps an option to share user Ranks between Primary Usergroups? __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__  |
