مدافعو حقوق الإنسان في البحرين يطلقون حملة "مطلوب للعدالة في البحرين"!!
الحملة تهدف إلى فضح المجرمين بالإسم والصورة والوقوف بوهجه سياسة الإفلات من العقاب، وهذه
خطوة جبارة وشجاعة من مدافعي حقوق الإنسان في البحرين، وعلى الجميع الوقوف معهم:
Bahrain: HRDs Launch Campaign “Wanted for Justice in Bahrain” Human Rights Defenders in Bahrain have launched a new campaign “Wanted for Justice in Bahrain”, calling for an end to the climate of impunity which has seen leading human rights defenders arrested, tortured, denied due legal process and sentenced to lengthy prison terms after unfair trials. Among those currently in prison are Nabeel Rajab Director of the Bahrain Centre for Human Rights (BCHR) who is serving two years in prison on charges of inciting illegal gatherings: Naji Fateel of the Bahrain Youth Society for Human Rights (BSYHR) who is serving 15 years in prison having been charged with “the establishment of a group for the purpose of disabling the constitution” and who was brutally tortured while in pre trial detention : Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja founder member of the BCHR and former Middle East Protection Coordinator with Front Line Defenders is serving a life sentence after brutal torture and an unfair trial. He was charged with “organising and managing a terrorist organisation”, “attempt to overthrow the Government by force and in liaison with a terrorist organisation working for a foreign country” and “collection of money for a terrorist group”. Abdulhadi Al Khawaja's daughter Zainab Al-Khawaja is also in prison. Since 1 May, Zainab has been brought to court at least 3 times for hearings and new charges to be filed against her. Bail has been consistently denied and her release date is scheduled for February 2014. Zainab has been repeatedly detained, threatened and abused by Bahraini security forces. Doctor Ali Al-Ekri and Ibrahim Al-Demistani, Secretary General of the Bahrain Nurses Association are serving prison terms of 5 and 3 years respectively because of their work. Front Line Defenders is concerned at the ongoing pattern of harassment and intimidation of human rights defenders who are routinely subjected to forced disappearance, arbitrary detention and physical and psychological abuse while in the custody of the police and security services. The Bahraini Government has repeatedly promised to take action to improve respect for human rights including pledging to implement the recommendations of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI). However, the reality has been a number of cosmetic exercises with limited impact, significant investment in public relations, blocking international human rights observer visits including the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, a growing number of Bahraini human rights defenders in prison and a failure to bring to justice those responsible for systematic human rights violations. In this context those Governments which have backed the Bahraini Government including Saudi Arabia, the UK and the USA must join with others in the international community to press for effective action against impunity. - See more at: http://www.frontlinedefenders.org/no....aS2u6Uno.dpuf
